BROTHERHOOD
What is Masonry?
Masonry is the world’s first and largest fraternal organization. It is guided by the enduring belief that each man has a responsibility to make the world a better place. For 300 years, Freemasonry has enhanced and strengthened the character of individual men by providing opportunities for fellowship, charity, and the search for truth – within ourselves and the larger world.

Our Mission and Our Lodge
Lake Myrtle #316 Masonic Lodge’s mission is to promote personal growth and improve the lives of others. We take responsibility for the well-being of our brothers, our families, and the community as a whole. We value respect, kindness, tolerance, and our differences – religious, ethnic, cultural, generational, and educational, and strive for harmony in our individual lives, in our lodge, and in the global community.
As a lodge, we strive to be an active in our community. We have various charitable and educational events throughout the year, as well as social occasions. Some events are for members only, but many include our families.
GIVING FREELY OF YOURSELF AND ASKING NOTHING IN RETURN
Selfless giving is a trademark of Freemasonry. Locally, Masonic Lodges. Making a real difference in the world is a strong motivation for anyone wanting to experience a worthwhile life, one that has real purpose and is noble in intent. For a Freemason, charity is the perfect way of putting this desire into action and our lodge and its members are improving lives every day. The concept of charity is regularly examined and promoted within our ceremonies and meetings, making us highly motivated in helping others in a truly meaningful way. We are justifiably proud of what we do to support our local community as well as with national and international appeals and welcome like-minded individuals who share the same passion to join us
Nationally, Masons contribute nearly $2 million every day to relieve suffering and for the enrichment of mankind. Masons are the founding sponsors and supporters of the Shriners Burns Institutes and the Shriners Hospitals for Children, both of which offer their services free of charge; the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Program helps children with speech and language disorders throughout the United States, while numerous other Masonic affiliated organizations support worthy and needed causes.
